Maaske Hall originally served as a men’s dormitory. During the Cold War, it served as a concrete-reinforced fallout shelter. In 1974, it served as the Administrative Center for the Regional Resource Center for the Deaf. The building was named for Roben J. Maaske, who led the Oregon College of Education (OCE) from 1950 to 1955.
