DESCRIPTION:Ellen Waterston is the is the author of several books\, including Walking the High Desert\, Encounters with Rural America along the Oregon Desert Trail\, the essay collection Where the Crooked River Rises\, the memoir Then There Was No Mountain\, and four poetry collections\, including Hotel Domilocos and Vía Láctea\, A Woman of a Certain Age Walks the Camino. \nBased in Bend\, Waterston founded and manages the Writing Ranch and the Waterston Desert Writing Prize\, now a program of The High Desert Museum. She teaches in OSU Cascades’ MFA Program in Creative Writing. \nwww.writingranch.com
